Twains’ simple yet crisp writing style won him accolades from public all across the world. However, his writings were in the news for both the right and the wrong reasons. The public in general applauded Mark Twain’s works for his individual writing style. However, there were some interest groups who vehemently opposed it for various reasons. As a matter of fact there were some of the writer’s works that were never published for the same reasons.
For instance, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which was one of the most popular works of the writer, has been repeatedly restricted in American high schools. The book makes repeated use of the word “nigger”. The word was a common term when the book was written.
Another major publication from the writer was ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’. This publication was a huge hit with the youth. Mark Twain’s books and writings found great audiences amidst the youth. It was apparently his youthful style of writing that attracted the younger set of audiences.
While most of Mark Twain’s books received immense appreciation, there were some that did not go down too well with audiences. One such publication of the writer was ‘the Prince And the Pauper’. It was believed that the reason for the book being unsuccessful was because of the fact that Twain did not have much experience wit the English society.
All in all, the public response towards Twain’s writings was more on the positive side.
