The British author has the flare for writing and being an author ever since she was a child. Rowling started writing short fantasy stories as a child. She often read many of these stories to her sister. One of the first stories that Rowling remembers to have penned down was about a rabbit that was known as Rabbit. This rabbit was infected by measles and was then visited by all his friends. A bee known as Miss Bee also visited the rabbit.
She, till date remembers one of her most amusing stories that had her sister play a character too. In the story her sister falls down in a rabbit hole. And as she falls she is later on fed strawberries by members of the rabbit family. These short stories later on morphed into long fantasy tales as Rowling grew up. At the age of nine, Rowling was a given a copy of Jessica Mitford's autobiography, Hons and Rebels. Rowling was immensely inspired by Mitford and looked upon her as an idol.
