When Did Thomas Edison Die
Thomas Edison died at the age of 84 in West Orange, New Jersey. He was considered as the greatest inventor of 1800s – 1900s. He had invented more than 1000 devices among which his greatest invention was light bulb.

His other major inventions were the vote recorder, stock quote printer, carbon telegraph transmitter, telegraph repeating machine, generator, DC power plant, phonograph, and kinetoscope many other devices.
Edison was called a wandering mind which ended this three month formal school education. Afterwards, his mother gave him further teaching at home. To help his parents Edison started to sell newspaper at the age of 12 years. However, at this age he lost almost all his hearing powers, though there are several different theories about it. Scarlet fever was one of the prime reasons attributed to this. Edison migrated from city to city in the United States taking available telegraph jobs between 1863 and 1867. His first invention was the electric vote recorder, in June 1869.
Through out his career Edison invented one thing after another. He brought a revolution in the society when he discovered electric light bulb in 1879 and electric power in 1882. There are number of awards and honors given to Edison for his tremendous contribution to the mankind. He never sought society and always kept himself occupied with his experiments and inventions.
By 1920, Edison’s health became worse and he could not complete many of his experiments. In the last year of his life, he began to spend more time at home with his wife and children. Finally, he died due to old age on October 18, 1931 in West Orange, New Jersey.
