Edison was a great historic inventor and scientist ever. If we follow his life closely, we can say that more than a scientist, he was a technologist. Edison took great pleasure in inventing new things, not only to earn his living but also to help the society. This immensely talented inventor holds 1093 patents in his name in U.S. as well as many others in U.K. France and Germany. Among all his inventions, electric light was considered as one of his greatest inventions. He also originated the idea of electric current and successfully generated and implemented electric power to homes, businesses, and factories. He set up the first power plant at Manhattan Island in New York.
Edison had six children from two wives. On December 25, 1871, he married 16-year-old Mary Stilwell, they had three children. However after her death, he married again at the age of thirty nine on February 24, 1886 with 20 year old Mina Miller. They also had three children. Edison was the most sought after person of his age. Many profound dignitaries from around the globe wanted to honor and meet him for all his contribution to the world. This prolific inventor could never be erased from our minds!
