Inventions Of Benjamin Franklin


As an author, diplomat, printer, critic and the most eminent scientist of eighteenth century, Benjamin Franklin has a long list of inventions. He gave some of the most magnificent inventions ever. Electricity, lightening rod, armonica, bifocals, odometer and a musical instrument is accredited to his name.

He supported the use of ventilation at the time when everybody used to shut their window tight at night. Identification of a poison and investigation of fertilizers are also included in the long list of his scientific innovations. Ben Franklin was a person of many talents and expertise, his natural curiosity about things inspired him to make them better which resulted in number of inventions.

A thunderstorm lightening propelled him to invent electricity and this also formed the base to the theory of building prevention by using electric rods. In accordance with the invention myth of bifocal glass, it is said that Ban Franklin was suffering from shortsightedness and long-sightedness as well. It was quite troublesome for him to change his glass every moment. Therefore, he found a way by putting half-half of both power lenses in single frame. This is now known as Bifocal glasses.

His next invention was iron furnace stove; it was so designed to keep the rooms more warm during winters and to avoid excess use of woods. Now this stove is known as Franklin stove. Ben also set the first fire company and a fire insurance company in the country to provide people with added safety.
