Anthony Charles Lynton Blair was born at Queen Mary Maternity Home on May 6, 1953, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is Leo and Hazel Blair’s second son. He schooled at Durham’s Chorister School between 1961 and 1963.Through his schooling he liked music and played guitar. He is married to Cherie booth and has four children. |

Blair’s career started when he joined Labor politics in Shoreditch and South Hackney in the 80s.He supported unilateral disarmament. He campaigned and earned the Sedgefield Parliamentary seat and became the assistant Treasury spokesman in 1984.He became a Shadow Energy Secretary of State in the Shadow cabinet in 1988.
The following year he became the Shadow Employment Secretary. Blair had a lot of input in the development of the minimum wage policy. When he took over the mantle of the Labor Party in 1994, he reformed the party and made it popular with the public.
Tony Blair was elected the youngest Britain Prime Minister on 2nd May 1997.He was at the age of 44.He held other offices including First Treasury Lord, Minister of Civil Service,MP and the Leader of Labor Party.
He was instrumental to Northern Ireland peace process and development. He also endorsed American foreign policy by supporting invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001 and 2003 respectively. He earned Congressional Gold Medal in 2003
Blair resigned both posts of Prime Minister and Labor Party leader in 2007.He has been appointed the Middle East Envoy by the quartet countries.
