Jason Mraz was born on June 23, 1977 in Mechanicsville, Virginia U.S.A. He is an American singer-songwriter and his stylistic influence in music includes pop, reggae, and rock, hip hop, jazz and folk. Jason Mraz attended Longwood University for a short period of time studying musical theatre before relocating to San Diego. He returned to Virginia in 2002 and signed to Elektra records to work with John Alagia. His major debut release “Waiting for My Rocket to Come” was certified platinum by RIAA in July 2004 making it one of the billboard s Heatseekers.
He has also opened stage for artists like Alanis Morissette in June and July 2005 and released his second album on July 26, 2005. Mraz also play musical instruments like guitar and vocals and his most genres of music is pop rock and adult contemporary songs.
His first performance was with Taco in Singapore in May 2006 as part of Mosaic Music Festival. Jason’s studio albums include Waiting for My Rocket to Come in 2002 which was platinum, Mr. A-Z and We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.
Among the awards he has worn since he started singing is the San Diego Awards for Best Acoustic 2002, San Diego Music Awards Artist of the year 2003, San Diego Music Awards for Song of the Year and she was nominated for Grammy Awards in both Best Engineered Album and Non-Classical for Mr. A-Z in 2005.
