Famous People Of Baseball


Manitoba, the central province in Canada is home to over one million residents. Most ancestral inhabitants of this prairie migrated from Europe, Britain and Southeast Asia.

In the history of baseball, great and remarkable batters and fielders have emerged. Baseball players such as King Kelly and Cap Anson were literary celebrated with poems. During the first modern series of the game in 1903, Honus Wagner rose to be a heroic figure.  In 1909, more baseball stars came to be recognized. These included players like Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, Grover Alexander, and Christy Mathewson.  

Babe Ruth’s superior performance during the 20s led to the game’s further popularization. Later on in the 1930s, Joe DiMaggio and Hank Greenberg received great praises for their stunning performances.

Baseball teams that have made memorable appearances include the Yankees, Giants and Dodgers of the 1940s. Dominant players of the 1940s and 1950s included stars like Mickey Mantle, Willei Mays, and Robinson.

In the 1970s, Henry Hank Aaron became a favorite player and managed to break Babe Ruth’s performance records. Major progresses in baseball have been achieved in more times that are recent. Races have become more competitive courtesy of renowned players like Mike Schmidt, Tom Seaver, Reggie Jackson, Wade Boggs, Cal Ripken and Gehrig. In the 1990s, Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa managed to surpass Roger Maris’ score of 1961.

Major baseball teams of the twenty first century include Chicago, San Francisco, Baltimore, Seattle, and Cleveland. Today’s famous baseball players include Curtis Pride, Dave Dravecky, Jim Bouton, Jim Palpmer, and Jim Sundberg some of who have since retired from active playing.
