Death is inevitable and must be appreciated irrespective of one’s status in society. Famous people who graced the world with marvelous contributions to society have died just like common people. The presences of famous people however continue to be felt through their works, contributions and legacies.

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States was assassinated in 1865 and remains a martyr to many Americans. Lincoln led his country successfully through a period of great internal strife and is credited with abolishing slavery through his Emancipation proclamation.

Levy Patrick Mwanawasa

Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, the President of Zambia died on 19 August 2008 at a prestigious hospital in Paris following a short period of serious illness. Mwanawasa died during his second term in office that followed his victory in the elections which were held in September, 2006. His health condition had for long been an issue of worry since his first mild stroke in April, 2006.

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare died in April 1616 at the age of 52. Shakespeare was one of the most prominent dramatists and English poets and is often hailed as England’s national poet. His works accumulate to 154 sonnets, thirty eight plays, several poems and two narratives.

Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee died an unusual death in 1973. Lee is famous as a martial artist and is an icon of culture in today’s society. He is also remembered as founder of the Jeet Kune Do form of martial combat.

Karl Heinrich Marx

Karl Heinrich Max died in March, 1883. Karl Marx is credited as the founder of communism, and is greatly respected for the significant contributions in sociology, economics, politics and history.
