Popularly known as Nikki, Nicole Ari Parker survived many odds to become one of the most prolific African American actresses. She was born on 7 October, 1970, but misfortune seemed to be following her as her parents Donald and Susan Parker divorced soon after her birth. |

The young comedy star later admitted in an interview that she almost lost confidence in the institution of marriage because of her parents break up. Schooled in an all white school, Parker knew what she wanted to be early in life. She spent a considerable amount of time practicing acting and always said that she wanted to follow the footsteps of actress Willona who appeared in the comedy show good times.
Big Break :
Naturally gifted at the stage she joined the school drama club and won a series of best actress awards. Nicole later joined the Baltimore theatre group and this is where her career blossomed. Nicole’s big break in acting came when she landed a role in the film “The incredibly True.”
Adventure of two girls in love” Her other major role was when she played the role of an attorney in the hit drama Soul Food. She also had a brief stint with the investigation series CSI before appearing in other films such as 200 cigarettes, Adventures of Sebastian Cole as well as Exiled.
Nicole was nominated for the most outstanding actress in the drama series Soul Food in 2003, 2004 and 2005. She married Joseph Falasca in 2001 but the divorce bell rang eight months later. Currently she is married to fellow star Boris Kodjoe and they are blessed with two kids.
